The Colours in Autumn

Swift breeze through the maple trees

Stacks of leaves up to your knees

The musical silence of the fall

Colours so bright before they lose it all

Patches of scarlet, chestnut & gold

The graceful drift between warm and cold

Clouds and sun rolled into one

Evening strolls and a midday run

The air so fresh and the sky so crisp

The whole season passes by in a dreamy wisp

Witches of Winter

Puddles of tears & sorrow

A promise of a grey tomorrow

Piles of blankets & shivers in the night

Gloomy skies & disappearing light

The silver of winter is smoky with rain

The witches have cast a spell once again

Goosebumps spread over skin like a plague

Foggy mornings so misty & vague

Icy wind stinging your cheeks

This is what we endure for twelve cold weeks

Sprites of Spring

They come overnight in a cloud of moonlight

So swift and quick in the blink of a wink

With the sweet scent of nectar they leave behind

As they awaken the seeds so you will find

A garden blooming and teeming with life

Flowers and bees and plants and trees

Buzzing and humming and shimmering in the heat

The buds first sunrise is sprinkled with dew

For these are the teardrops they have left for you

The change of the season, is made for a reason

To bring joy to the children and start anew

The sprites of spring, you'll hear them sing

The melodies of new life growing and growing

Sunbeams of Summer

The sand, the shells & the sea

The land, the smells, you & me

The sunbeams tickling our faces

Come with me and I'll take you places

Our laughter & chatter like a harmony of music

Dancing round the fire as you strummed your acoustic

The waves crashing on the shore

The echo in the cave as you snored

Dangling seaweed in our hair

Splashing each other without a care

Ice cream melting in the sun

Summer with you was heaps of fun
